Olveston Cnr Royal Terrace & Cobden Street

Was designed for David Theomin by London Architect,Sir Ernest George, (1839-1922),  and built between 1904 and 1906. The Jacobean style, grace and grandeur of Olvestonis distinguished by a wealth of decorative detail. All thirty-five rooms at Olveston tell a story of a gracious age. The home is sited in the inner city and iswithin walking distance from the city centre,being built on an acre and surrounded by garden.

Dunedin Railway Station

This building perhaps embodies Dunedin's wealthy inheritance. During the city's most prosperous years this railway station was the country's busiest, handling up to 100 trains each day. Though there have been many debates about whether the building is actually beautiful or not, the overall effect is undeniably grandiose and the station is New Zealand’s most photographed building. Construction began in 1903 and the station was officially opened in 1906.

Dunedin Chinese Garden

“Most cherished in this mundane world is a place without traffic, truly in the midst of a city there can be mountain and forest”. Wen Zhengming (1470 – 1559).  A perfect miniature of a traditional Chinese landscape painting, this Garden encapsulates the essence of nature. It was built to take you on a journey to a greater understanding of history, culture, heritage and tradition. Its origins come from a desire to celebrate the city’s Chinese heritage and its valuable sister city relationship with Shanghai.

Cadbury World 280 Cumberland Street

Cadbury World is located in the centre of Dunedin at the Cadbury factory site. The Visitor Centre is a colorful and educational environment with chocolate-themed displays where you can learn about the history of Cadbury and chocolate through the ages. You can even wake up your taste buds right at the start by trying a fresh cocoa bean! To avoid disappointment, bookings are essential. At the end of your tour, you're invited to browse through the Cadbury World Shop.

Robert Burns Statue

Dunedin's statue of poet Robert Burns is one of five such statues in the world, another of which can be seen in Central Park, New York, which was sculptured by the same artist. Dunedin's restored statue of the Scottish icon is over 100 years old and resides in the Octagon.
