60 YEARS AN OTOMATE. Betty Geary from Wyndhan.
Good morning, I am from Wyndham to say I am celebrating 60 years as an ileostmate this week. I spent 9 months in Dunedin hospital and ended up with one of my best friends and have never regretted it. I am also having my 93rd birthday so a double party with family and friends. Welcomed my 30th greatdranddaughter thisyear. I live alone in Wyndham a beautiful small town with neighbours lovely and family near. Hope to meet Dunedin group next month in Gore.

Meet Jenny: "So far I have raised over £112,000 for a children's hospital for people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). I have had 3 major operations due to Ulcerative Colitis.
Stage 1 - removal of my large bowel and stoma created using part of my small intestine.
Stage 2 - nine months later, J-Pouch created using some of my small bowel
Stage 3 - three months later, Stoma removed and now the J-Pouch takes over doing the job my large bowel used to do!
This is a fantastic picture explaining the 3-step j-pouch surgery! Great visual! How many of you have ever considered a j-pouch?
