BBQ - 7 Dec 2019
Christmas BBQ - We had a beautiful hot day for our Chriastmas BBQ, with about 16 members turning up, including 2 members from Arrowtown. With everyone contributing various dishes including desert, there was plenty to go round with seconds for those that wished to do so.

1Kg Mixed Fruit (Tasti is the best)
2 Cups Ginger Ale (or orange juice if you prefer)
2 Cups Self raising Flour - 300g
Soak Mixed Fruit in Ginger Ale overnight or at least 4 hours, next day mix in Self Raising Flour, place in 200mm Baking Tin, lined with Baking Paper. Bake in hot oven (180deg C) for 1 1/2 hours (this may vary in different ovens, my oven is a fan bake).

World Ostomy Day Oamaru Excursion
Ostomy Society members had a great time on 6th October travelling to Oamaru by Bus to celebrate W.O.D, Many thanks to our driver "Frosty". A good number of members enjoyed our day first stop, Hampden for ice creams, then onto Oamaru's Heritage Precinct, where we wandered around at our own leisure before meeting up at the Star and Garter Restaurant for Lunch. It was great catching up with other members including a couple of members from Oamaru.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2018
The Otago Ostomy Society Annual General Meeting was held on Saturday 16th June, we had a reasonable turnout, however it would have been nice to see a few more members come along. The President-Phil Elliot, Vice President-Lindsay Bryant and Secretary-Fergus Meehan remained the same, also Robyn Tourell who took over as Treasurer after the death of long time Treasurer Heather Keen earlier this year has also been retained. Some discussion took place regarding visits to Oamaru and Southland within the next 6 to 12 months. Our Patron Mr Mark Thompson-Fawcett MBCHB (Auck), MD, FRACS gave a talk on all things Ostomy and the state of Dunedin Hospital into the future.
